Mapping London - Greenwich to Tower Hill Edition

A travelling/ drawing workshop in London
Saturday 15th October 2022
10.30 am - 4.30 pm
£48 per person (includes riverboat ticket)

About

This fast-paced drawing workshop will encourage you to make responses to your surroundings.

By moving across various locations, we will open ourselves up to the burgeoning possibilities of the city, taking in buildings, waterways, people, boats and details.
Through changing landscapes, we will see familiar scenes from fresh perspectives.

Led by artist Isabella Mitchell, this workshop will encourage and help you to draw from life. This edition draws inspiration from a journey along the river Thames. Across the span of a day, we will embrace the calming ebb and flow of drawing as a collective, ending with a tutorial where inspiration will be in full flow.

This workshop is suitable for beginners and beyond. You are invited to bring your own drawing equipment, though I can provide this upon request.

Plan For The Day

We’ll start the day with a journey on the DLR, travelling from Bank to Cutty Sark (with front seats if we’re lucky.)

We’ll spend the morning taking in and drawing the sites of Greenwich, including the National Maritime Museum, Royal Naval College and the Cutty Sark.

There will be an hour’s break for lunch, and the chance to regroup, discuss and compare our favourite drawing spots.

In the afternoon we’ll take a riverboat from Greenwich to Tower Hill, offering a fresh and inspiring perspective of the Thames.

Our final drawing spot will provide panoramic views of the Tower of London, Tower Bridge and the river Thames.

We will wrap up the day with a tutorial. This will give everyone to show and share their drawings, discuss their thoughts, receive feedback, and relax with refreshments and good company.
